African swine fever (ASF) is a
serious viral disease of pigs caused by the African swine fever virus (ASFV).
It is highly contagious, and can spread very rapidly in pig populations by
direct contact with infected animals, indirect contact on fomites, and tick
vectors. ASFV is endemic in most of sub-Saharan Africa and has caused recent
outbreaks among domesticated swine in the Republic of Georgia, Russia,
Armenia, Azerbaijan, and other countries in the region.

effectively detects anti-AFSV antibodies in serum, plasma and blood filter
paper samples. The test shows improved sensitivity and a wider spectrum of
detection thanks to the detection of polyclonal response to multiple
antigens.
