Contamination of biological samples such as tumor cells, hybridomas and viruses used on research animals can cause disease outbreaks or affect the integrity and outcome of results. Applied Biological Materials Inc. uses the advanced testing method Infectious Microbe PCR AmplifiCation Test (IMPACT), which is superior to the traditional Mouse Antibody Production (MAP) test in the following ways:
- Turnaround time is reduced from 4-6 weeks to 5 days
- PCR test results does not rely on the immune response of the mouse
- PCR testing does not require the use of live animals
- PCR testing is more sensitive and can detect smaller amounts of infectants
Our preselected service options, which includes the most common viruses and mycoplasma species that might afflict mice, gives reliable and quick results, and are discounted by 50% over our customizable service options.
Please send in 1 cryovial per sample containing at least 2x106 cells/vial. We accept samples in cell pellet form, in growth medium, freeze medium or phosphate-buffered saline.
Liquid Samples
Please send in 1 cryovial per sample with a minimum volume of 0.5ml for best results. However, if sample is limited, smaller amounts can also be accommodated. Please contact us for details.
