哺乳動物細胞使用幾種方法誘導細胞不杇化 (Cell immortalizing)。其中的一個方法，是使用猿猴病毒40（SV40）T抗原病毒的基因，誘導細胞不杇化。SV40的T抗原誘導不同類型的細胞不杇化，在許多文獻中己證實，此方法為最簡單且最可靠的方法，其機制一直都有詳細記載。在大多數情況下，一些抑癌基因 (病毒基因失活)，例如P53，RB等，可誘導細胞複製衰老狀態實現細胞不杇。最近的研究顯示，SV40的T抗原可誘導感染細胞的端粒酶活性。細胞不杇化的方法，是通過端粒酶逆轉錄酶蛋白，特別是對細胞端粒長度（如人類）的影響是最的表達。這種蛋白是無效，但在大多數體細胞端粒酶是外生表現時，能夠保持足夠的端粒長度，以避免複製衰老細胞。幾個端粒酶永生細胞株的分析已證實，細胞維持一個穩定的基因型和保留關鍵的表型標記。在某些細胞株，尤其是在基層上皮細胞，hTERT的過度表現未能誘導細胞永生化，反而可能會誘導細胞死亡。最近的研究發現，端粒酶催化亞基共表達P53或RB的siRNA可以使人類細胞，初代細胞，卵巢細胞，及上皮細胞不杤化（楊 G.等。癌變 2007;楊 G.等，癌基因2007）。同樣，超過 T58A突變的Ras或Myc的表達也被發現可以不朽一些主要的細胞類型（西爾斯 R.等，基因與開發，2000年）。 Abmgood 憑藉多年在細胞永生化的經驗，開發細胞不杇化的最全面的產品，產品包括端粒酶，P53和RB的siRNAs，SV40 T抗原架構的質體和慢病毒及腺病毒表現載體。Abmgood提供已定量好的慢病毒和腺病毒，可直接感染細胞，其細胞immortalizing。 Abmgood慢病毒載體都來源於莫洛尼鼠白血病病毒（MoMuLV）。
