Bluetongue
(BT) is an infectious insect-borne viral disease of sheep, domestic and wild
ruminants. Laboratory detection of the Bluetongue serogroup is currently
achieved by detection of antibodies directed against the VP7 protein. The VP7 is
a major core protein possessing the serogroup-specific antigens common to the 24
serotypes. The ID Screen® Bluetongue Competition ELISA kit
efficiently detects antibodies directed against this protein in ruminant serum
and plasma samples.
