Cell Cycle Analysis Kit

GenScript's Cell Cycle Analysis Kit enables rapid and convenient cell cycle and cell proliferation assay. In normal cells, DNA density changes depending on whether the cell is growing, dividing, resting, or performing its ordinary functions. Staining DNA using flow cytometry allows the researcher to determine whether the cell is in G0/G1, S, or G2/M, giving a clearer picture of how cells in different parts of the cell cycle are distributed throughout the sample and the level of proliferation activity. In apoptotic cells, DNA is degraded by endogenous nucleases and diffused out of cells. A highly definable sub-G1 peak occurs and is easily quantified by dyes. Cells can then be sorted and further analyzed by microscopy to verify the presence of apoptotic cells. After RNA is degraded by RNase, the nucleic acid dye in this kit binds with DNA in the nucleus, not only in normal cells, but also in apoptotic cells. The change in DNA of cells can be assayed by flow cytometry.
